Canada, our lovely northern neighbors, are

. Definitely an excuse to head to Fundy National Park this summer, about a six hour drive from Bar Harbor though I am dreaming of Banff.

If you've ever been to Target, you've seen the $1 area (usually right when you walk in). I only go to Target once a year, and I always tell myself I'm NOT going to stop and peruse, but I always do anyway, and I'm glad I did. From random party wares to bouncy balls and candles, you'll probably find something you can't live without.

Noteworthy From John

This handy guidebook contains everything you need to know in order to keep your pet train happy and healthy. I've read this story to my 5-year-old every night for over a week now and have developed a sort of "How to Train Your Train" Stockholm Syndrome. It is a whimsically illustrated, brisk bedtime story that makes a pretty convincing case for keeping a 200 ton locomotive as a pet.

When you're running a small gift shop stocked with cards, puzzles, Maine-made items, and gifts from local artisans, it's hard to figure out how to market yourself online. We're working with Diane to train her to use online tools to connect with her existing customers and help people understand what her store has to offer for any gift giving occasion.

(She's having a Snackaganza next week where you can try Stonewall Kitchen stuff among other delicious goodies so if you're in Bucksport Maine, stop by and say hi!)
